Hello
The first thing I want you to know is that it is never too late to improve your health. It does not matter from where you are starting, your journey begins with one step. With small steps, big changes can happen.

My Story
Thanks so much for taking the time to engage my site and getting to know more about my story. I have been married for 33 years, I have four grown children, two wonderful daughters-in-law, and three grandchildren. My interest in health and wellness began later in life. I began my career as a registered nurse after my last child went to school. While working as an RN I went to college and obtained a Bachelor's of Science in Psychology. With all of the busyness of raising a family and pursuing my career and education, I found myself at 47 years old feeling exhausted, prediabetic, anxious, achy, and 80 pounds overweight.
As the reality of my health sank in, I knew I had to make a change. I was in perimenopause and I realized my health would continue to decline if I did not take control soon. I was unsure of my path forward but I knew ultimately that my journey would begin with food. Once I made the connection that what I ate could improve my energy, reverse my prediabetes, help my sleep, decrease my joint pain and anxiety I never wanted to go back to my old ways. Eating whole foods that nourished my body changed my life so significantly that I changed my career to become an integrative nutritionist so I can help others discover their health through nutrition.

I graduated from MUIH with my Master's of Science in Nutrition and Integrative Health in 2022. I completed 1000 hours of supervision, passed a licensure exam, and obtained the credentials and licensure of a Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS) and Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist (LDN). I have worked in private practice and I am currently work with a primary care group helping people achieve their health goals.

My health journey continues seven years later. I feel better than ever and continue to learn and grow in new areas. I have added fitness to my health routine over the years and started CrossFit this year at 54 years old. CrossFit has brought a new level of fitness that I could not attain myself. I am so grateful for finding strength training and building muscle at this stage of life. It has been transformative especially in menopause.

As an integrative nutritionist I will work to find the root causes of your symptoms and support the biochemical processes through whole food nutrition. I will consider all aspects of your life and how they play a role in your overall health. I believe that it is important to work collaboratively with my clients and other healthcare providers so that the support I provide is holistic and tailored to the individual.
I believe that with my background in nursing, my education in nutrition and personal passion for health, I can help you with your journey towards better health.
In gratitude and health,
Amie Howard MS, CNS, LDN, RN
